During the Spring of 2017, IHS Radio Station asked IHS Code Club to build them a radio streaming app for their station and over the summer the Code Club Officer Team worked hard to make it into a reality.

IHS Radio Station is an internet radio station run by Issaquah High's very own Radio Club started in 2016. It features podcasts, material, and interviews within the Issaquah community, written by club members, and plays popular music. Check them out at: http://www.issaquahradio.org/

Over the summer of 2017, Code Club Officers, met twice a week over the internet from all over the world, including the US, Taiwan, China, England, and Korea, to develop an Android version of the app with considerable progress.

With the exception of one member, none of the team had ever built an app before and it took many trials and modifications before they finally developed a semi-functioning prototype. They used Android Studio, a program designed to build Android apps to build the project. The app directly streams the radio from its internet source address and turns on and off on command. It even works when the app is not open or when the phone is asleep.
